I had a full weekend. I was busy the whole day on Friday getting work done, and then it was off to my friend's house for a good time. When I thinking of getting together with my friends, there are always three things involved: food, fun, and fellowship. And of course, there is never a shortage of either of the three.
For food, we had pizza, smoked salmon, salad, raw vegetables, spinach and artichoke dip, and the list goes on and on. There is nothing like being blessed with community where you can let your hair down, and not be afraid of being yourself.
I was blessed to hang out with my Writer's Group on Saturday morning, having to say goodbye to a friend who's moving soon, and then hung out with my mom and niece for the whole day on Saturday. We ate pancakes, then vegan stew, and then we listened and danced to music.
Afterwards, I decided a movie of some sort was in order. What started out as a few episodes of "When Calls the Heart", turned into a marathon that lasted till 1:00 a.m. It felt good not to have to worry about doing a lot of other things while they were there. I was able to sit down, enjoy them, and breathe after taking care of the dishes.
Sunday after church involved raking leaves, a nap, a little bit of bible study homework, and then more napping to catch up with my crazy, interrupted sleep from the last two weeks due to the weather changing and the sunlight as well. I guess I'm kind of sensitive like that.
So, the question of the day is: "What did you do for your simple, functional, grace-filled weekend?" Drop me a line below. Would love to hear from you!
