Christmas is Coming
The closer we are to approaching Christmas, the more activities are being scheduled with family and friends. This past weekend was filled with evening activities. On Sunday, the first event that I attended was a dear friend's birthday party celebration. I ended the evening with a social that included the ladies from my MOMS ministry small group.
We had a full course meal, dessert, and plenty of laughs. It was a bonus that the attire for the night was cozy pajamas. Somehow, we all ended up in the same color scheme: shades of gray, red, and black. When I got home, I smiled with tears in my eyes as I thought about all of the friends, food, and fellowship God had blessed me with. I wouldn't trade community for the world.
Today, I got a chance to take a walk down to the train station. Unfortunately, this hadn't happened in a few weeks, due to either it being too cold or nowhere to walk because of the snow on the sidewalks. Walking in fresh air brings an indescribable sense of well-being and comfort to the body. And thus, I took full advantage of that tonight. I even got a quick picture of the Village's Christmas tree.
Drop me a line letting me know what simple, functional, grace-filled events met you this past weekend.
