Spring Clean-up

Spring Clean-up

The last couple of weeks have represented newness and a refreshing to me.  First of all, I am redoing my filing system to make it easier for me to organize going forward.  Thankfully, I only have two crates of manila folders to go through.  This means that it shouldn't be too cumbersome.

Blueberry Whole Wheat Pancakes

Blueberry Whole Wheat Pancakes
Last week, I had to wait for an hour for my daughter to pick me up.  To kill time, I decided to look around in two sections of the grocery store.  The first section was the magazines and books.  Featured on the front of one of the magazines was a picture of whole wheat blueberry pancakes.  The picture left me with a taste in my mouth that I couldn't get rid of.  I decided that since I had some pancake mix and blueberries at home, that I would go home, and have fun making them.

Pushing for the Calling

Pushing for the Calling
How many of you have been told by God that you were destined for a calling? You went through the steps of walking in that calling until Satan started to shame you with your personal struggles, and what your present reality is, rather than God's truth. That is what has happened to me as well. When life's disappointments...

Who Can Separate Us?

Who Can Separate Us?
Separation causes a lot of things. For babies, the peak time for separation anxiety is between 10 to 18 months. Even as adults, separation can be very difficult. Due to immigration issues or other circumstances beyond our control, separation happens. Families end up being torn apart. In marriages, separation occurs for...

Judgment

Judgment
We haven't fully digested it yet, but we love playing God. We have all shaken our fingers at someone in person, or in our heads. We have been self-nominated as "The Judge". God Himself. When people like/dislike things differently than us, we wear the black robe and pound the gavel. "I don't know why he/she spent $500 o...

Whole Faith

Whole Faith
What is whole faith? Whole faith is the faith that you hold on to when you don't have a details of when, why, how, or where that the "what" you need to happen is going to happen. When we having been praying for something so long, it is very tempting to throw in the towel. It is easy to want to go according to what our...

Reflection Time

Reflection Time
We have another cold, winter day here in the Midwest.  I am grateful that it is not as cold as it was last week.  Within a matter of a few days, we went from -51 with the windchill factor involved, to 51 degrees.  Unbelievable!

Coffee and Quiche

Coffee and Quiche
On Friday, I met up with a sister-in-Christ for lunch, fellowship, and to discuss the writing process. This all took place at a coffee shop near my house.

Holiday Celebration

Holiday Celebration
I had the pleasure of celebrating Christmas early with my mother and my niece.  For our dinner menu, I decided to make a vegan and non-vegan lasagna, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and Lemon Ginger Honey Iced Tea.  One of the best things that was treasured during this time was dancing with them.  It reminded me of dancing with my cousin as a kid.

Precious Time

Precious Time

As our kids are getting older, it becomes more difficult to squeeze in precious time with them.  Yesterday, I was blessed with the opportunity to have breakfast with my son at Panera Bread.  The double blessing was that our breakfast was free because of my Panera Rewards.

Christmas Decorations

Christmas Decorations
I finally have all of my Christmas decorations up and ready.  This year, I decided on a few decorations with a focus on natural colors.  I decorated the railing during Thanksgiving weekend, and the tree got put up a few days ago.
